The Wesco Companies engaged Vchange’s full creative and production services. We worked closely with Wesco staff to hone their ideas into a coherent advertising concept, which took advantage of the concurrent release of Sony’s new James Bond 007 thriller, ‘Casino Royale’.
Our creative team created a script, which was translated into a video storyboard that justified the viability of the spot’s timing and premise.
After we received final approval on the script from Wesco, our pre-production team took over and launched into an exhaustive search for talent for the spot. Since there were only two weeks from the concept’s approval until the shoot, we very rapidly utilized our casting resources to create a series of casting sessions for the main characters of the spot. The two leads we selected bear a strong resemblance to the new James Bond, Daniel Craig, and Bond female lead, Eva Green.
Simultaneously, our production team assembled the crew and appropriate production gear for the shoot, conducting multiple scouting sessions to determine our exact needs. These scouting sessions helped to reconfirm certain ideas and to move forward towards changing other less viable ones.
Our post production crew was already hard at work prior to shoot day, surveying the lobby area of the Wesco Self Storage Center to determine how to populate the plasma screens above the lobby. Orange screens were rigged in place of the plasmas, to allow them to be later replaced with computer generated imagery.
After the shoot was complete, Vchange post’s team assembled the first cut of the material, and worked with renowned Swiss film composer, Vicent Gillioz to put together an authentic music track for the spot.
After review by Wesco, our post production team made edits to the cut to better reflect the needs of the Wesco group. These edits included a shot of the exterior of the building with a moving Wesco Self Storage logo and a clarification of the services through ‘supers’. Vchange’s creative team also created a series of a new tagline – ‘Safer, Cooler, Neater’ at the client’s request.
After the second edit, we revised the ‘supers’ on the letterbox area to reflect contact information for the Wesco Self Storage Center and created a green background to match the Wesco Self Storage green colors of the shot. This became the final version.
This final version was submitted and a broadcast copy was created along with QuickTime files for distribution and streaming on the Internet. However, Wesco decided that they wanted a second Voice-Over (VO) version to alternate with the first. This required our casting and recording of voice-over. Vchange's creative team returned to create the text of the voice-over.
After the shoot was complete, Vchange provided additional dubbing and encoding resources to help position the advertisement in a variety of different distribution platforms, including broadcast and Internet channels.
